EXOTIC PROFILE

The Exotic Cat is bred to meet the Persian Standard in every way, except in coat length.

Today's Exotics come in both long-hair and short-hair coat lengths, both lengths are shown in many organizations in the USA and abroad. The exception in the USA being the CFA. CFA does not have show-class for the long-haired Exotic.

Many call the Exotic, "The lazy man's Persian" due to the ease of caring for their cats.

The 'look' of the Exotic is one of 'roundness', from the top doming of its large, round head, with large eyes, a short nose having the break centered right between the eyes with low set small ears, and a thick neck, blending into a thick/wide chest, a short, cobby body, short tail, which are carried on short thick legs, giving a completely 'balanced' look to the Exotic.

The Exotic should have a thick, heavy/dense plush coat, giving one the impression of a 'teddy bear' boat.

With today's busy lifestyles, the Exotic is the perfect cat for all whom love the Persian 'look', but prefer less grooming time, in their cat.

The Exotic is an excellent house cat, and adapt easily into any type of lifestyle and are very affectionate.

They, like the Persian need very little, outside of security and love to thrive. They are much like the Persian in temperament. They have a quiet nature, yet are lively and fun-loving, and they stay playful even as adults.

With the Exotic, as with the Persian, people often think that the females will be the more gentle and loving of the sexes, and that the males may be aggressive and prone to spray. But this is not usually the case, as it is the male that is more often the sweeter and more affectionate.

Many people feel that having an Exotic is having "the best of 2 worlds".
